Ride trails as you find them, taking due care, and notify us of any trail problems you encounter.

Glentrool

Trails: All trails open

Conditions: Purple Route - A section of the forest road near post 47 near Buchan Bridge has been damaged by flood water, watch out for deep ruts.

Palgowan Green Route - the track is very muddy through the fields near Palgowan, you may need to push round the worst bit.

Other: visitor centre now open.

Kirroughtree

Trails: All trails open.

Conditions: The forest road on the Blue Doon Hill extension is liable to flooding so you may have a large puddle to ride through!

Diversions: None.

Other: Visitor Centre now open. Bike hire and shop open from 10.00am  - 5.00pm Friday - Monday plus school holidays in September and October (though on any day if pre-booked).

Dalbeattie

Trails: The Hardrock (red), Moyle Hill (blue) & Ironhash (green) trails have diversions in place due to harvesting operations around Cloak Hill (see information below).  

Conditions:  The trail and log after The Eye of the Needle suffers from flooding in prolonged wet weather. If this is the case, please proceed with care. 

Diversions:  

  • Hardrock Trail (red): The Cloak Hill and Moyle Magic section is closed (post 25 to post 28). Please follow diversion from post 23 to start of the Barnbarroch Loop at post 28.  The Rock Don't Roll section is closed, please follow the diversion from post 58 to post 22, via Barnarroch (see Hardrock Diversion map, PDF 2.6Mb)
  • Moyle Hill Trail (blue): The section between post 38 to 68 (Youngs Hills) is closed. Please follow diversion from post 38 to post 22, via Barbarroch (see Moyle Hill diversion map, PDF 2.6Mb)
  • Ironhash Trail (green): The trail is only open up to post 22 & 23, and then you return back to the car park (see Ironhash diversion map, PDF 2.6Mb).

Mabie

Trails: All trails open

Conditions: Trails are riding well

Ae

Trails: All trails open with some diversions in place (see information below). 'The Shredder' - the new Downhill track - is now open.

Conditions: OK, though rough in places

Diversions:  Forestry Operations are underway between post 19 (Bran Burn Bash) and post 21 (the Edge) on the Ae-Line (red route). Several short diversions are in place to by-pass busy areas, but most of the trail is open - including a cracking new section of boardwalk after post 20. Please be extra vigilant of timber lorries on the forest roads.

Section of trail between post 25 and 26 is affected by wind damaged trees.  Please follow diversion along the forest road where you will rejoin the trail at post 26.

Glentress

Trails: All open including 2 new sections of climbing singletrack (2.5km of new trail). This means the outward climb for the Blue, Red and Black routes up to the Buzzard's Nest car park is now almost completely on singletrack! No more forest road slog! Instead: silky smooth singletrack, gentle gradients, great viewpoints as well as cheeky rocky short cuts. Log balance beams to be opened up shortly.

Conditions: Good, though big puddles on parts of the Black route especially.

Diversions: Minor diversions on the Electric Blue on the Blue Route until mid November (when flyover bridge will be completed). Trail merges on to new outward climb for short period. Note, fenced chicane up to slow riders on Electric Blue down on approach to merge. Look out for it!

Innerleithen

DH Trails:  All four waymarked DH routes are open. Changes have been made to the Matador at road crossings and the barriers at road crossings are now permanently removed. Barriers across Gold Run (at blind road crossings) are currently closed. Changes are currently being made to the Gold Run road crossings which which will also bring an end to these barriers. 

Uplift: online booking now available for uplifts at www.upliftscotland.com Next uplift weekend 11/12 October. For more info contact Tally on 07709 144299. Barriers will be open on uplift weekends. Food and drink now available on site on uplift weekends.

Conditions: Good.

Diversions: None.

Newcastleton

Note: Latest trail maps available at Dykecrofts trailhead incorrectly detail a new section of singletrack on the Caddrons Blue route that hasn't been completed yet! Please follow the waymarkers for this route on the ground as normal, turning left at post 3 onto Rowantree Road for the outward leg.

Trails: All open.

Conditions: Good though puddles in places.

Diversions: None
