Aimed at the expert riders, the black route is a demanding, technical trail.  Tight and testing, it has a multitude of rock features, sizeable drop-offs, stone staircases, boulder fields and rock slabs – and there aren’t any chicken runs for the faint of heart.

The trail begins with a fire road climb which leads to a narrow climb through boulder fields and stunning scenery to the Wolf’s Lair viewpoint.  Enjoy the view while you can, because after that, all you’ll focus on are the evil features a couple of metres before your front wheel on the way down.  Wolftrax really bares its teeth on this very technical wilderness rock-fest!

Features include the back, sack and crack attack - a  triple rock slab feature that gives you an insight into the mind that designed this course - and the fearsome Devil’s Chessboard, a 40-metre rock slab staircase with 24 different levels, a real test of skill and endurance.

The black route is one-way use only, but clear the treacherous trail features, and you can celebrate with a tear down the Bike Park back to BaseCamp.

Helmet, gloves, elbow and knee protection recommended!
