The events list is updated throughout the year.  Descriptions of a number of the events are provided under the listings table.

Please note: most events listed are arranged and run by independent organisations.  If you plan on attending, please always check details and dates with the organisers prior to travelling, as events can occasionally be cancelled at short notice.

Event Details

These are some of the events that use 7stanes trails during the year:

7/24
The 7/24 challenge ride for teams of up to four cyclists across all seven 7stanes centres and the roads between. Starts from Glentrool visitor centre at 11am Saturday and ends at Glentress 24 hours later.

10 at Kirroughtree
As part of the Blacks Three Tens – this is one in a series of 3 x 10 hour mountain bike endurance events, taking place at a variety of different locations throughout Scotland.

Dalbeattie Hardrock Challenge
A duathlon over the marathon distance of 26 miles contained within Dalbeattie Forest. The event consists of a 10 mile run followed by a 16 mile bike run over the 7stanes red route.

Merida MTB Marathon Series - Selkirk
The marathon includes skills classes, pasta party and event village on the Saturday with the ride following on the Sunday morning. 

Stepping Stanes
The Stepping Stanes series is a way for young people to take part in off-road bike racing in an easy way and with no special mountain bike needed. The races are on a short course with obstacles. Competitors can get off the bike and push - you don’t have to be an expert!  It's fun and there are prizes to be won.  If you want to enter in advance get an entry form from your active schools co-ordinator or from: http://www.steppingstanes.co.uk/

SXC Series
The Scottish Cross Country Mountain bike race series offering racing for all ages and abilites.

TransScotland MTB Stage Challenge
Starting and finishing in Selkirk, the TransScotland is a mixture of endurance riding and timed special stages in and around the 7stanes trails. The total distance cycled over the seven challenging stages is around 550 km.
