Larg Hill Trail
 

This trail requires a reasonable degree of fitness, however the panoramic view across the Solway Firth is well worth the effort. It also offers open views of Cairnsmore of Fleet to the east and the ancient market town of Newton Stewart to the west.

How to get there:

Larg Hill Trail can be started from Kirroughtree Visitor Centre in Kirroughtree which is part of Galloway Forest Park. Newton Stewart and Creetown. is the nearest town or village.

From Newton Stewart:, Take A75 signposted Dumfries for 3 miles. Turn left at Palnure signposted Kirroughtree Visitor Centre.
, From New Galloway: , Take A712 to Newton Stewart. Turn left at T-junction onto A75. Turn left at Palnure signposted Kirroughtree Visitor Centre.
, By Bus: , Service 431 from Newton Stewart to Kirkcudbright. Exit the bus at Palnure, a short walk from Kirroughtree Visitor Centre.
