Cally Wood
 

Colour rating today: turned golden turned golden
This is a mixed broadleaved wood set in the historic grounds of old Cally estate. The wonderful variety of trees make this wood a riot of colour in the Autumn, a sight to be seen.

How to get there:

Cally Wood is part of Galloway Forest Park. Gatehouse Of Fleet is the nearest town or village.

From Newton Stewart by car:
Take the A75 signposted Dumfries, and turn off at the road sign for Gatehouse. Head straight through Gatehouse and Cally woods is on the right hand sideat the same entrance to the Cally palace hotel.
From New Galloway:
Take the A762 from New Galloway to Laurieston then the Laurieston to Gaterhouse road, signed Gatehouse of Fleet from Laurieston. Turn left at Gatehouse heading towards the Cally palace. Entrance to Cally woods at the cally palace hotel.
