Recreation at Mabie Forest

Colour rating today: turning golden turning golden
Take a stroll through your local wood and you'll feel that autumn is in the air. Some leaves on the trees are already turning to shades of yellow and gold, encouraged by the cold spells we've been having recently. Tree species putting on a colourful show at the moment include - hazel, horse chestnut and sycamore.Follow the yellow waymarked Nith View walk for stunning views towards Dumfries and over Mabie, where the changing colours of the forest can be fully appreciated.
