Buzzards Nest Car Park
 

PLEASE NOTE: There will be parking restrictions on weekdays at Glentress until Christmas. The Buzzards Nest Car Park, The Red Squirrel car park and the access road to these will be CLOSED to vehicles MONDAY - FRIDAY from 13th November to Wed 24th December. The 7stanes and Osprey car parks at the trailhead will be fully open to vehicles as normal. All mountain bike trails and forest walks will remain open during this period but visitors are asked to be alert for construction traffic on the forest roads and give way where necessary.

This is the highest vehicle access point in the forest and is the best place to park for family access on to the cycle trails. The Freeride area can be accessed from this car park. For more information please visit the 7 Stanes website using the link on the right hand side. The reconstructed Iron Age Round House can be found approximately 1 mile (25 minutes walk) from the car park. The Buzzards Nest provides an excellent start base for the Tower Trail, University Trail and the Time Trail walks.

How to get there:

Buzzards Nest Car Park is in Glentress Forest which is part of Forests of the Scottish Borders. Peebles is the nearest town or village.

One and a half miles east of Peebles on the A72., Once on forest road go past the Osprey Car Park and follow road uphill beyond the Red Squirrel Car park. Follow forest road for about one mile and the road splits to the left uphill from the forest drive. Car park is well sign posted., Please adhere to the 15mph speed limit.
