OSPREYS - FEMALE AND YOUNG (Pandion haliaetus)Glentress forest is in the heart of the the Tweed Valley Forest Park and is a one of the most diverse forest in south Scotland. Come and marvel at the large mature Douglas Fir, (amongst some of the oldest in Scotland!). The Forest is set in a Glen, hence the name, come and see the forest that changes with every season, and discover, what wildlife is hiding in the deep undergrowth! The River Tweed famous for the salmon, sits just below the forest and forms the backdrop for all the forests in the Tweed Valley Forest Park. Discover the Ponds, near the Red Squirrel Car Park, and see the display of Dragon Flies in the summer, or why not take a trip to the Buzzard nest Car Park at the top of the forest, and see if you can see any flying in the stunning landscape of some the best areas to see wildlife in Scotland. Have you heard? THE OSPREYS ARE BACK! Come to Glentress and see the Viewing centre open daily from 29th May, open 10 am - 5pm, live footage from the nest live to the centre, anjoy one of the best views from the comfort of the centre!

Birds: Many of the larger birds of prey are now fledging chicks, the nest sites are protected from disturbance. Now is a good time to see young birds learning to fend for themselves.
